In fact, in the wake of the independence in 1956, was held every summer at the Toumliline monastery – located on a mountain in the Fez region and formerly occupied by Benedictine monks – a gathering of intellectuals and thinkers, in particular Muslims and Christians in which prominent figures took part, such as the renowned Christian thinker Louis Massignon.”

  • Jamaâ Baïda : A graduate of the University Mohammed V, Rabat, and the University of Bordeaux III (France), research professor since 1982 at the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences, Rabat, former secretar y general of the Moroccan Association for Historical Research (MAHR), and founding member and coordinator of the Study Group of Research on Moroccan Judaism (SGRMJ). He is also a member of the editorial board of Hespéris-Tamuda and former director of the journal La Recherche Historique. He is also the founder of the journal Archives du Maroc and author and co-author of several works and articles on contemporary history and the history of present times Morocco. Since 2011, he has been director of the institution Archives du Maroc. In January 2018, he was nominated by the Directorate General of UNESCO a member of the International Advisory Board of the Memory of the World Program.
