Hassan Bouzidi, Editor bio. Native of Agadir, Morocco, Hassan Bouzidi earned a B.A. degree in English Language and Literature (with a major in Linguistics) at Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech, Morocco.

He went on to do a PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Glasgow, U.K. On completion of his PhD he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at Glasgow where he taught Translation and TEFL (1992-1994).

Dr. Bouzidi then joined the Department of English Studies at Ibn Zohr University of Agadir, Morocco where he has since been holding a tenure post as Professor.

During the academic year 2001-2002 he was invited as a Visiting Scholar by the Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University, in Washington DC where he spent his first sabbatical year doing a needs assessment in the area of ESP for Marrakech Express, an English for Tourism Textbook.

Professor Bouzidi won a Fulbright Scholarship to write the actual textbook invited by EPI (English Programs for Internationals) of the University of South Carolina at Columbia where he spent the Summer of 2005 and Fall of 2006). Marrakech Express was published by Dar Nashr al-Maarifa, Rabat in 2007.

In 2013 he completed the Civic Education and Leadership Fellowship (MEPI) program at the Maxwell School of Citizenship, Syracuse University, New York, where he also worked on The Court of Appeals, a Textbook of English for the Legal Professionals published by Ibn Zohr University (2017).

Professor Bouzidi is author of Language Attitudes & Aptitudes published by LAP Academic Publishing in 2015. He is also published in the English Teaching Forum, The Encyclopedia of Language and Linguistics , DIRASAT, and is a contributor to The Times Higher Education on the subject of Higher Education in Morocco.
