Hassan Bouzidi: Editor bio.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

\"Hassan Native of Agadir, Morocco, Hassan Bouzidi earned a B.A. degree in English Language and Literature (with a major in Linguistics<\/a>) at Cadi Ayyad University<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>of Marrakech, Morocco.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

He went on to do a PhD in Applied Linguistics<\/a> at the University of Glasgow<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, U.K. On completion of his PhD<\/a> he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at Glasgow where he taught Translation and TEFL (1992-1994).<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Bouzidi then joined the Department of English Studies<\/a> at Ibn Zohr University<\/a><\/strong><\/span> of Agadir, Morocco where he has since been holding a tenure post as Professor.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the academic year 2001-2002 he was invited as a Visiting Scholar by the Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, in Washington DC where he spent his first sabbatical year doing a needs assessment in the area of ESP for Marrakech Express, an English for Tourism Textbook.<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Bouzidi won a Fulbright<\/a> Scholarship to write the actual textbook invited by EPI (English Programs for Internationals) of the University of South Carolina<\/a><\/strong><\/span> at Columbia where he spent the Summer of 2005 and Fall of 2006). Marrakech Express<\/a> was published by Dar Nashr al-Maarifa, Rabat in 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2013 he completed the Civic Education and Leadership Fellowship (MEPI<\/a>) program at the Maxwell School of Citizenship, Syracuse University<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, New York, where he also worked on The Court of Appeals<\/a>, a Textbook of English for the Legal Professionals published by Ibn Zohr University (2017). <\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Bouzidi is author of Language Attitudes & Aptitudes<\/a> published by LAP Academic Publishing in 2015. He is also published in the English Teaching Forum<\/a>, The Encyclopedia of Language and Linguistics<\/a> , DIRASAT<\/a>, and is a contributor to The Times Higher Education<\/a> on the subject of Higher Education in Morocco.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hassan Bouzidi is editor-in-Chief and founder of www.moroccodemia.com<\/a> a multilingual website dedicated to gathering, disseminating and archiving information on Higher Education in Morocco.<\/span><\/p>\n
