Women make up [40%] of the [19,000] candidates competing for about [800] new positions for \u201cadouls\u201d who will be selected on the basis of merit and without any positive discrimination in favor of women. The profession of \u201cadoul\u201d remained a \u201cmen only\u201d job for religious reasons. The constitution gives the king, being Commander of the Faithful, exclusive authority to look into religious matters on the advice of the Higher Scientific Council that issued the \u201cwomen adouls\u201d fatwa.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two-text-div-container\">\n<div class=\"left-text-div left-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>April 19,\u00a02018<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"right-text-div right-text\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The government Council adopts a draft decree pertaining to Higher Education institutions and student accommodation, put forward by the Minister of Education, Training and Research. \u201cThe decree aims at bringing Higher Education institutions closer to students, diversify programs and adapt the academic map to the regional breakdown of Morocco. The draft stipulates:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">1. The creation of new institutions: a <em>Multidisciplinary Faculty<\/em> in Taounate (Mohamed Benabdellah University &#8211; Fes), a <em>Multidisciplinary Faculty<\/em> in El Hoceima (Abdelmalek Essadi University &#8211; Tetouan), and a <em>Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy<\/em> in Laayoune (Ibn Zohr University &#8211; Agadir).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">2. The change of appellation of some institutions:\u00a0<em>Higher School of Technology<\/em> of Berrechid (Hassan 1 University &#8211; Settat) becomes\u00a0<em>National School of Applied Sciences<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Multidisciplinary Faculty<\/em> of El Jadida (Bouchaib Doukkali University) becomes\u00a0<em>Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">3. Transfer of institutions from one university to another:\u00a0I<span>nstitutions<\/span> created in El Hoceima from Mohamed 1 University (Oujda) to Abdelmalek Essaadi University (T\u00e9touan), Higher School of Technology (Khenifra) from Moulay Ismail University (Mekn\u00e8s) to Sultan Moulay Slimane University (Beni Mellal), and institutions created in Khouribga from Hassan 1\u00a0Univertsity (Settat) to Sultan Moulay Slimane Univertsity (Beni Mellal).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two-text-div-container\">\n<div class=\"left-text-div left-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>March 14-15,\u00a02018<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"right-text-div right-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0National Strike<\/span> <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(National Higher Education Teachers&#8217;
