The number of young Moroccans to be trained over the next five months under the leadership training program, organized by the U.S. Embassy in Morocco and the Anoual Association. The program kicks off with an intensive workshop in Marrakech on February 25, 20222 and concludes with each participant implementing a unique community project in their hometown across Morocco. ALA is an innovative program designed to develop interpersonal and leadership skills among Moroccan youth for positive change in the country. Through this program, participants develop the mindset, approach, and skills needed to be a Moroccan leader of tomorrow. ALA works with internationally renowned mentors, aiming to provide participants with the guidance needed at every step of the process, from idea formation, to communication and management, to community building, to financial and legal negotiations.

Morocco ranked number one in the category “Global Connection” of the NASA International Space Apps Challenge.  After reviews by more than 200 subject matter experts and three rounds of judging, NASA has announced the Global Award winners of the 2021 !  For the first time since the program started in 2012, ten Global Award winners were announced, including those in four new award categories. The winning teams were announced on a Twitter livestream by former NASA astronaut Cady Coleman on December 10, 2021. Each winning team is being recognized on the Space Apps website and on social media. The winners also received an invitation to a Winners Trip in the United States, which could potentially include viewing a spacecraft launch at a NASA facility.

The time span of the last Arabization experience.  A clause in the new Education Framework Law (# 51.27) stipulates that Arabic be dropped as a the language of instruction for science subjects.  “The language that that does not serve as a medium for research and lacks appropriate technical terminology cannot succeed in pre-university education.” (Khalid Samadi, State Secretary for Higher Education, August 23, 2019). Until now, students take Science subjects in Arabic during their pre-university schooling, but once at university, where science subjects are taught in French, they find it difficult to cope.
